Happy Friday!
Wednesday's homework was to read chapters 3-5 in our Frankenstein books.
Those who didn't read chapters 3-5 will have to catch up on it over the weekend, as well as read chapters 10-13 and be prepared to answer the questions listed below.
Next Wednesday, the Last Lecture Part 1 is due, the childhood portion. It needs to be at least 2-3 pages, since the ending result will be a five minute memorized presentation to the class at the end of the semester.
The only homework is to catch up on reading and finish up part 1 of your last lecture!
Today, we're discussing this question: "Why won't the narrator reveal the secret of animating human flesh?"
Read 10-13: (These are questions she will be asking on Monday)
-What does Frankenstein want to do when he first meets his creation again?
-What does the creature ask Frankenstein to do initially?
-After being driven from the village, where does the creature finally settle?
-Name one thing the creature does to secretly help people in the village.
Those who haven't read chapters 3-5, these questions will need to be answered by Monday:
-Who is Frankenstein?
-Who is Elizabeth?
-Who is Clerval?
-What is created?
-Give on defining characteristic of the creation.
-What happens to Frankenstein?
-Why won't our narrator reveal the secret of animating human flesh?
**Shelley was neglected by her father.
**In the story, she writes a child dying and then her actual child dies.
**She had a nightmare about the creation from the story standing over her and staring at her, hence inspiring the story of Frankenstein.
-What is Frankenstein's responsibility? How is he responsible for his creation?
