We then watched a clip from South Parks episode  "Hell On Earth 2006".  Some of the themes are about how the devil was evil when he didn't get exactly what he wanted. After we watched the Devils Advocate and Bedazzled which both demonstrate the theme of choice and how you don't have to choose the devil but how he tempts us all.

After we looked at the paintings.  Smith wanted us to focus on the shadows and the things that stand out in the paintings.

Its Friday!!!

After an enthusiastic yet someone delayed Hellos Smith from the English Literature class, we dove right in to our notes on Dante's Hell. We disused the final two levels:
Level 8) the Fraudulent
Level 9) The Treacherous (Betrayal)

Then we explored some songs, videos and pictures about the devil and then analyzed them as a class. These pieces we will use for the Summary Response.

Donut Day!

Juniors need to take a the Current Junior Class Options Survey for 2013-14 from the Language Arts webpage. Mrs. Smith recommends all juniors to take World Lit next school year.

We went over the background information of the Dante Alighieri packet that we were given on monday. After going over the information we then took a quiz over it.

Hello Everyone!

We missed Smith this Monday morning and hoped she is at school on Wednesday. After attendence, we turned in our summary respose paper of the Last Lecture. The day proceded as follows:
  • We descused our interpritations of hellas a class. What is like? Who goes there? And what type of punishments there are?
  • A Donte Divine Comdey packet was passed out to us and we read the background information on the first  6 pages of the packet
  • Then we got into groups and discused our own iterpretations of hell compaired to the hell in the bachground information of Divine Comedy.
  • Each group then presented their observations to the rest of the class
Homework: Work on you Last Lecture part 1, review the background information in packet as there will be a quiz sometime this week, and explore Dante's Virtual Tour of Hell at http://foxtwin.com/inferno/
